2018 Montana WPRA Pro Rodeo Circuit Finalist Jill Ferdina

Which horse(s) are you taking to the finals? Eddies Cookin and Daphne De Guy (2013 Bay Mare by Frenchmans Guy x Floyds Moon Bug JC by Floyd De Great)--Idaho Bred, PESI Enrolled

List a few of your highlights for 2018
Winning Belt MT was my first rodeo I had entered Eddies Cookin and we won it! It was also Eddies Cookin's first rodeo he had ever ran in so it was a pretty special win. I purchased Eddies Cookin from Kava Huestis in March 2018 so it was very neat that I made the Circuit Finals.

What is your horse(s)' style when running barrels?
Eddies Cookin has a huge stride and a lot of run. He pretty much keeps moving throughout all his turns.

What special qualities does your horse have and what makes him/her unique?
I would say Cookin's aggressiveness makes him unique. He can be a bit intimidating at times because he can get really strong and can really run.

Do you have a routine you follow before your runs?
I pretty much do the same thing before each run with warming Cookin up. I do a lot of long trotting and loping in each direction. I also like to stop him some to keep him listening and paying attention to me.

Name some favorite places on the road that you stop at for a meal, adventure or sightseeing?
I really like to eat at Cafe Rio if I go through Billings. I really didn't have much time for sightseeing as I traveled by myself and was usually in a hurry to get from one rodeo to the next. I work full time so it was tough trying to rodeo and work all summer long but I managed to get it done.

When you're headed to the rodeo who's on your play list?
I don't have a play list. I listen to whatever!
