2022 Montana Pro Rodeo Circuit Finalist Cadee Williams

Which horse(s) are you taking to the finals? What are their lifetime earnings? Scandal (Dropit Likeitz Hott) $100,000

What is unique about their personality and what are their strengths? She has a ton of personality. I have to tie her up really good because she will untie about any knot. She is a little horse that loves to eat! She is as wide as she is tall. She is not the biggest horse, but she has a huge heart!

When did you start competing in breakaway? Not positive, but probably when I was 6 or 7 years old.

Do you raise your own horses? Or do you purchase? Are you looking for specific bloodlines? My parents have started raising their own line of horses. I have just purchased mine. Nothing too specific as of now.

What are your conditioning and workout routines for both you and your horse(s)? I try to exercise Scandal 4-5 times a week and probably only practice on her once a week. I work out 4-5 times a week as well.

When you're headed to the rodeo what do you listen to: inspirational podcasts, music, audio books? All of the above. We drive a lot, and you have to mix it up! Mostly podcasts, and music of all genres though.

Do you have a rodeo idol and reasons why?
Not necessarily one in particular. There are a lot of people I look up to for different reasons. Trevor Brazile’s character, Lari Dee’s horse training, Cody Ohl’s competitiveness…

Do you have favorite spots to stop at while on the road? As far as food, we will not pass up a Taco Time or a huckleberry milkshake stand! Local coffee shops are also some of my favorites if we have time.

Who do you travel with (including pets or companion horses) and in what kind of rig? Usually my husband, Landon, and two kids go with me if we can make it work. We have a big bus and a bumper pull trailer!

What are your favorite memories/highlights and obstacles you faced getting to the 2022 circuit finals?
It’s always fun getting to be home in Montana and rodeo, seeing old friends, knowing everywhere I’m going and where to stop. I love getting to stay with friends between rodeos. Obstacles include finding someone to watch our kids while Landon and I rope! Especially when we team rope together. Also going to multiple rodeos, and not really being able to practice much in between runs. Very tricky with younger horses as well.

How do you juggle family life while on the road?
I don’t know if I juggle it very well because it is very tough! But we try to have fun and do other things between rodeos to really make it more fun. We love to go really anywhere scenic, go to fun parks for the kids, and just try to enjoy it as much as we can because it can be a long summer if you just wrap yourself out going from rodeo to rodeo.

What are your hobbies or other sports you compete in?
I love to ski! I have never really competed in any other sports at all, but I do love to ski.
