Jacey Fortier, February 23

Tell us about your family. I live with my mom. My Dad and step Mom live in Shepherd, MT with my two little sisters, Brooke (5), Billie (4).

Tell us about your horse(s) (age, personality, where you got them, etc). Rooster is my main breakaway horse, he is 21 years old. He probably has the best personality of any of my horses. Turbo is my green head horse but has already won me some money. We have rasied both of these horses.

What do you feed your horse? Alfalfa Hay and Oats

What are your other interests besides riding horses? I really don’t have any other inerests besides roping.

What’s the coolest place you have ever been and why? I would have to say when I went to Nationals my senior year. It is a lot of fun you get to meet new people and just to see how many contestants come and compete there is really awesome.

Which reality TV show do you think you would do the best on and why? The Amazing Race. I just think it would be fun to travel and see the world and have a chance at winning a million dollars.

Do you have any superstitions or rituals before you run? I have a lot of superstitions. Don’t lay your hat on the bed, don’t wear yellow, and I never use the same peace of string twice in the breakaway.

Milk chocolate or dark chocolate? Milk Chocolate

How did you get started riding horses? I have been on a horse since I was born. I don’t ever remember not riding.

What do you listen to while you’re driving? Everything. Nickelback, Lady Gaga, Linkin Park. Sometimes Country, no Oldies though

What food(s) do you absolutely refuse to eat? Hot Dogs!

What do you do to stay awake when you are driving? Turn on the AC and crank the music.

Did you play any sports in high school or college? Basketball in high school. Rodeo in high school and college

Are you a morning person or a night owl? A night owl

What kind of saddle do you ride in? Buck Bradford and an OTT Beagley

Who are your rodeo idols? Charmayne James, Allen Bach, Stran Smith, Travis Tryan and Clay Tryan

Where did you grow up? Right around Billings, MT

Do you prefer mares or geldings and why? Geldings. They’re not as moody.

Do you like a particular bloodline or cross? I like the horses we raise, they go back to Rocket Bar and Robin Reed.

What style of horse do you prefer for barrel racing and breakaway roping (small or large, free runner or push, quick or long- stride, etc)? I have rode kinda everything from free runners to ones you have to push. I kinda like the ones you have to push because it keeps me aggressive.

Do you raise and train your own horses? Yes we raise and train all of our horses.
