Julie Lenoir two-time circuit finals qualifier

Tell us about your horse(s) (age, personality, running style, where you got them, etc). KK Cee The Cash (Kcee) is an 11 year old mare. My close friends say she’s like a Disney character (haha). She’s very calm and quiet and travels very good but does talk a lot. The only time I get much reaction out of her is when it’s grain time. She loves her grain. Her running style is very simple. Just one check on first barrel. She is very fluid and uses her hind in the turns.

What horse(s) are you going to be riding at the circuit finals? I plan to use Kcee at the finals.

Tell us about your rig and traveling partners. I have an old Dodge pickup and a 3-horse Silverlite living quarters horse trailer. I have two full-time traveling partners, Belle & Annie. They are 4-year-old chiweenie dogs. Deanna [Levine] jumps in with me when she can and anyone who has the weekend open and would like to ride along. On a normal rodeo weekend I usually go to INFR Tour rodeos, Montana Pro Rodeos and Northern Womens Rodeos so it’s hard to have a traveling partner who also attends all of the above.

What do you like most about being on the rodeo road?
I love the different towns and my favorite coffee shops, restaurants, etc. in each town. I love the people I meet and my “rodeo family” (everyone out on the road doing the same thing).

What do you like least about the rodeo road?
I need a bigger closet!

What was your favorite 2010 Montana rodeo/committee (what did the committee do that was special)? It’s hard to choose. There were some GREAT rodeos this year. Wolf Point has great food, great people and great ground. The same went for Libby and Sidney this year. All very wonderful!

What was your best rodeo moment of 2010? 2010 was filled with wonderful moments. My best moment though was when Arlis Long said they had Bob Berg buckles this year then making a great run and finding out I won it [the Wolf Point Stampede].

Besides pro rodeos do you compete in other rodeo or barrel racing organizations?
INFR, NWRA, NBHA, jackpots.

What are your rodeo plans in 2011? See how it goes =)

What kind of tack and bits do you use on your horse? Larry Coats Pad, Classic Equine splint boots & bell boots, straight mouth piece gag.

What kind of saddle do you ride in? Martha Josey Ultimate.

What do you feed your horse? A mix of cob and oats, grass/alfalfa hay, and Pureform.

What do you do for a warm-up and do you have any superstitions or rituals before a run? I try to long trot for minimum of 15 minutes, lope circles small and large in both directions, and hand stretch legs.

What do you do during the week to keep your horse in shape? Pony her in the spring each day. As the summer gets busier, this gets less. If I get home Monday or Tuesday and leave Thursday or Friday, she gets turned out the whole time I’m home.

Tell us about your family. Dad—Dennis, mom—Maryann, sisters—Jeannie & Katie, niece—Donelle, and nephews—Brandon & Wylie.

What’s your occupation, besides barrel racing? I am an accountant.
