Which horse(s) are you taking to the finals? Ms Lucki Kelly "Dyna"
What are your horse(s) lifetime earnings? Oh, I don't really keep track but she has won a ton over the years between the pro rodeos, NRA rodeos, jackpots, slot races etc. She's a pretty cool chick!
List a few of your horse(s)' major accomplishments. I have really only hauled Dyna around Montana the past several years. She has ran a 16.7 on a standard, jackpot dirt, she's won a few slot races, won several rodeos around Montana and she's just cool. People know she can be a game changer when she comes down the alley.
List a few of your major accomplishments. Qualified for the NFR the first year I tried and was 4th in the world. Won the DNCFR and set an arena record in Pocatello. Won Red Bluff by a half second and 40% Nampa. Those are some great memories!
What is your favorite part of barrel racing and the rodeo lifestyle? The rodeo lifestyle is HARD. The road is HARD. It's tiring and exhausting. I sold my NFR horse promptly after making the finals because I didn't want to be on the road. The barrel racing is what is addicting to me. The adrenaline rush, knowing it's you, your horse and the timer. I crave the competition and LOVE watching good horses in the sport of rodeo.
What is your favorite inspirational quote or saying that you use to keep you going duing the year? "All things happen for a reason."
What is your favorite thing to do with your horses other than barrels? Dyna does't have to do much other than barrels, she's a diva. In fact she rarely gets rode unless we are at a rodeo. The other horses we use to rope and I really enjoy sorting as well.
What special qualities does your horse have and what makes him/her unique? Dyna is fast, she can make mistakes and still clock.
What one piece of horsemanship or barrel racing advice would you give someone trying to run barrels on a professional level? Stick with the basics. When things aren't going right, we always want to "change" it up. Don't, go back to the basics that got you where you are today.
If you horse was a celebrity who would he/she be? Oh for sure, "Pink". She's very unique but talented. She's beautiful but definitely likes things HER way.
