Which horse(s) are you taking to the finals? Stitch
What is unique about their personality and what are their strengths? How tall are they and what is their weight (thought it would be fun to compare)? He can be sweet, and he can be an @$$ hole all at the same time. He gets to the calf pretty fast, and I truly believe he can read the score... 14 hands and 900lbs (this is a total shot in the dark)
When did you start competing in breakaway? I was about 9 or so.
How long have you been a WPRA member? This was the first year on my card.
Do you raise your own horses? Or do you purchase? Are you looking for specific bloodlines? We mainly buy colts. We don’t worry too much about a bloodline.
What are your conditioning and workout routines for both you and your horse(s)? I like to ride Stitch in the meadow or working cows for exercise, once in a blue moon I will pick up a weight but working at home keeps me in half decent shape.
When you’re headed to the rodeo what do you listen to: inspirational podcasts, music, audio books? I listen to podcasts and music.
Do you have favorite spots to stop at while on the road? Town Pumps or Conoco because I can save $0.05/gal.
Who do you travel with (including pets or companion horses) and in what kind of rig? I travel with my brother and sister, my pup Toots and sometimes the Salmond sisters if they have a hole.
What are your favorite memories/highlights and obstacles you faced getting to the 2023 circuit finals? My fav memory was pulling second in Augusta because that is where I caught my first calf in a rodeo as a kid.
What or who are you thankful for? Always thankful for the family and friends that help me out, my horses, dogs, and cows.
What are your hobbies or other sports you compete in? Other breakaway gals have time for hobbies?
