2023 Montana Pro Rodeo Circuit Finalist Tiffany Ogren

Which horse(s) are you taking to the finals? Boons Fancy Gal "Tesla" and Lectric Reys "Spice" (2015 sorrel mare by Rey Jay Boon x Lectric High Brows by Lectric Playboy, Montana Bred)

What is unique about their personality and what are their strengths? Tesla is quiet and shy by nature, but can run and stop hard. She has big lower lip that she let’s hang down when she is relaxed. She has a big booty. Spice is cherry sorrel in color with a unique silver mane. Her name kind of describes her personality. She scores like a rock, has a longer stride than Tes and stops big every time. These mares are half sisters.

When did you start competing in breakaway? I probably started roping competitively in 1992

Do you raise your own horses? Or do you purchase? Are you looking for specific bloodlines? We do not raise any horses yet. We purchase them and train them. We look for a cow or straight lines that can run hard.

What are your conditioning and workout routines for both you and your horse(s)? I do 2 to 3 high intensity workouts per week. I exercise my horses 3 to 4 times a week and rope on them 2 to 3 times a week.

When you’re headed to the rodeo what do you listen to: inspirational podcasts, music, audio books? I mostly listen to podcasts in music on the way to Rodeos, as well as my traveling partners.

What or who are you thankful for? I am thankful for my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, my husband Stacey and our kids: Ry and Colt. I’m so thankful for my awesome traveling partners, Matt & Cristen Riffel and so many other special friends and family in my life, too many to name here.

Do you have favorite spots to stop at while on the road? Oh my goodness, I have a lot of favorite stops on the road: the old Mercantile at Grass Range, Wheat Montana near Three Forks, the Huckleberry Patch at Hungry Horse, Parkers restaurant in Drummond, Big Sky Grocery at Moore, any Town PUMP for a jalapeño cheddar corn dog and a ZOA energy drink.

Who do you travel with (including pets or companion horses) and in what kind of rig? I have two of the best traveling partners in the world: Shaylee Wahl and Kelsey Ferguson. I love traveling with my family when they are able to come with me.

What are your favorite memories/highlights and obstacles you faced getting to the 2023 circuit finals? The biggest obstacle a face this season was roping through a LONG slump mid season (pretty much most of the season). Highlights for me this season included kicking off the season strong in Belt. I was so excited to make the semifinals at the NFR Open in Colorado, Springs. Lastly, it felt good to finish the season strong with a win in Colfax, WA. Also, I’m so thankful for all the committees that included breakaway this year. Memories for me would include enjoying the 2023 Montana Circuit Finals and the NFR Open with my family and many fun times on the road with my traveling partners.

What are your hobbies or other sports you compete in? I have recently started golfing a bit alongside our son, Colt. It is so much fun to get out on the course with him and my husband too!
