Which horse(s) are you taking to the finals? ArmedNFamous "King" and Flash N Dynamite "Pearl" (2015 buckskin mare by First Moonflash x Ima Dyno Doc Tari by Dyno Doc Tari, Montana bred)

What is unique about their personality and what are their strengths? How tall are they and what is their weight (thought it would be fun to compare)? King is happy all the time, Pearl is crabby all the time. ;) Both are fun and serious about their jobs. King is 15.2, 1300 lbs, and Pearl is 14.2, 1175 lbs.

When did you start competing in barrels?  I believe I was 5. 

How long have you been a WPRA member and how many circuit finals have you qualified for? Since 2002 . . . this is my 7th Montana Circuit Finals 

Do you raise your own horses? Or do you purchase? Are you looking for specific bloodlines? We raise our own horses . . . we typically breed for barrel racing speed and head horse size.
 
What are your conditioning and workout routines for both you and your horse(s)? Depends on the horse. Lots of pasture riding for Pearl, she hates exercise. King gets headed on, hauled a lot running barrels since he is still a derby horse and stands at stud at the breeding barn the rest of the time, so when I ride him he gets slow barrel work or works cows.  Personally, I try to workout 3-5 days a week. 

When you're headed to the rodeo what do you listen to: inspirational podcasts, music, audio books? Audio books! 

What or who are you thankful for? Family

Do you have favorite spots to stop at or snacks while on the road? Any coffee shops that are handy! 

Who do you travel with (including pets or companion horses) and in what kind of rig? I usually travel with my husband, Radley, or Joey and Shay! I happened to travel with a baby goat for a couple weeks last summer. We have a Ford pickup and a 5-horse trailer.
 
What are your favorite memories/highlights and obstacles you faced getting to the 2024 circuit finals? I luckily didn’t have any huge obstacles, besides trying to work the rodeos and futurities/derbies together. That’s always a challenge. My main highlight was King coming from the breeding barn straight to playing a large roll this summer when Pearl needed some time off. 

What are your hobbies or other sports you compete in? We mostly ride colts in our spare time . . . or chase Kyler around to ropings. We ski and golf a little.
