2024 Montana Pro Rodeo Circuit Finalist Lindsay Kruse

Which horse(s) are you taking to the finals? Famous N Peppy aka Scarlet (2018 bay mare by Famous Black Ty x Lucky Bugabu by Luck Of Mate, Montana Bred). She isn’t seasoned yet, but she is all I have right now and I believe she will be one of the best I’ve had after some more experience.

What is unique about their personality and what are their strengths? Almost every time you saddle her she acts like she has never had a saddle on her back before. Will spook at things she sees everyday.

How tall are they and what is their weight (thought it would be fun to compare)? 15.1 and about 1200 pounds

When did you start competing in barrels? Since I was 12

How long have you been a WPRA member and how many circuit finals have you qualified for? Since 2007 and this will be my 16th Circuit Finals Qualification.

Do you raise your own horses? Or do you purchase? Are you looking for specific bloodlines? I don’t raise my own. I always find it challenging and fulfilling to give certain horses a chance to shine that people usually overlook. Bloodlines are the last thing I look for.

When you're headed to the rodeo what do you listen to: inspirational podcasts, music, audio books? All kinds of music and 20/20 crime podcasts.

What or who are you thankful for? My entire family.

Do you have favorite spots to stop at or snacks while on the road? Big Timber Bakery is our favorite and anything with good sushi.

Who do you travel with (including pets or companion horses) and in what kind of rig? My husband and all three kids. Usually a horse for each kid too!

What are your favorite memories/highlights and obstacles you faced getting to the 2024 circuit finals? One of the hardest year to date after losing our brother in-law in July. I had zero desire to even go, but I knew we had to keep ourselves busy or we all will fall.

What are your hobbies or other sports you compete in? I wish I had time for other things but between raising a family my focus is on our kids when we aren’t at rodeos.
