2024 Montana Pro Rodeo Circuit Finalist Tisha Larsen

Which horse(s) are you taking to the finals? JL Red Cupid and Chain Lynk (2016 palomino gelding by Ragged Charm out of See Ya Leah by Proudest Effort)

What is unique about JL Redi Cupid's personality and what are his strengths? How tall is he and what is his weight (thought it would be fun to compare)? Junior loves his pasture time, so when he has to be stalled, he gets really cranky.  He has to have a buddy with him at the trailer, so I will always bring another horse with us so he is comfortable at the trailer. Junior is 15.3 and approximately 1100 pounds.

When did you start competing in barrels? I ran barrels a little in grade school, in high school I focused on high school sports, after college I got into running barrel again.

How long have you been a WPRA member? I have been a member for 7 years and this will be my second circuit finals

Do you raise your own horses? Or do you purchase? Are you looking for specific bloodlines? I buy my horses. I seem to really like the Jill Lane bloodline, I have 3 out of her program, so I guess it is safe to say I really like her program.

What are your conditioning and workout routines for both you and your horse(s)? My horses get to exercise out in the pasture, they gather cows or we go for rides in the hills.  If there is a problem in the barrel pattern, then I will work them in the arena, but mainly in the hills

When you're headed to the rodeo what do you listen to: inspirational podcasts, music, audio books? On the road I will listen to country, 90’s rock or an inspirational podcast.

What or who are you thankful for? I am so thankful for my family and friends that are behind me all season.  It is their phone call or text that keeps me going.  My dad has gotten to go with me some this year, and I am so happy for him to be with me.

Do you have favorite spots to stop at while on the road? I love a good pizza place, and a good ice cream place.  I do always have chocolate milk and a donut in my trailer.

Who do you travel with (including pets or companion horses) and in what kind of rig? My daughter is the main one with me until her sports start.  I am always sad when she has to start sports, and I have to leave her home.  My dad also has gotten to come with me on a few trips, and that has been great to have him with us.

What are your favorite memories/highlights and obstacles you faced getting to the 2024 circuit finals? Winning Wolf Point Stampede was the highlight of our season!
